LA VIOLA NEAR SPURS DEFENDER

Fiorentina are closing in on Tottenham centre-back Vlad Chiriches, reports Sky Italia.La Viola have initially offered to take the Romania international on a season-long loan at a cost of €1.5m.However, the Serie A club will then have the option to buy the player permanently next summer for €5.5m.

EVERTON AND WEST HAM IN FOR HALILOVIC

Everton and West Ham United have both made offers for Barcelona midfielder Alen Halilovic, reports Sport.Barca beat off competition from across Europe to land the highly-rated Croatia international from Dinamo Zagreb in 2014, but he has failed to convince during his time in Catalonia. The Catalan club are now ready to cash in on him for around €6m and the player is happy to head to the Premier League following reserve side Barca B’s relegation to the third tier of Spanish football.

MBEMBA DEAL MOVES CLOSER

Newcastle United have announced they have reached an agreement with Anderlecht to sign defender Chancel Mbemba, subject to a work permit being granted.

The club have revealed the player has been in Newcastle and agreed personal terms. He has also undergone his medical.The FA will hear Mbemba's application for a work permit on Thursday.(Skysports)
